Hi, I’m Yogesh Layalu, an Electrical Engineer from Bhaktapur, Nepal. I’ve always enjoyed turning ideas into practical designs that bring light and power to everyday life. Over the past few years, I’ve worked on various electrical projects — from residential and commercial buildings to industrial sites.
I specialize in electrical system design, site supervision, and coordination, ensuring that every project I handle is efficient, safe, and built to last. My experience includes working with AutoCAD, Dialux for lighting design, and preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates. I’ve also designed ELV systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, and PAVA setups.
I enjoy learning new software, exploring innovative technologies, and improving my skills through hands-on experience. For me, engineering isn’t just about circuits and drawings — it’s about solving real-world problems and creating something meaningful that people can rely on.
Designed and developed the complete electrical system for the Aangan outlet, covering lighting, power distribution, and low-voltage systems. The scope of work included load estimation, circuit design, cable sizing, panel board design, and protection coordination to ensure safe and efficient power utilization. Implemented a lighting layout focused on both aesthetics and energy efficiency, incorporating LED luminaires with appropriate control mechanisms. The project also involved installation supervision, testing, and commissioning in compliance with NEC and local electrical standards. The finalized system ensured reliable operation, safety, and optimized energy performance suitable for commercial applications. in Kathmandu.
Executed underground cable laying works for 10 buildings from the main 11 kV/415 V substation, ensuring reliable and safe power distribution across the facility. The scope included route survey, trench excavation, sand cushioning, cable laying, protective covering with bricks/tiles, backfilling, and cable route marking in compliance with IEC and local utility standards.
Work also involved cable termination, insulation testing, and commissioning using high-voltage XLPE armored power cables. Proper earthing, mechanical protection, and separation from communication lines were maintained throughout the route. The project ensured minimum transmission losses, high system reliability, and long-term operational safety of the entire electrical distribution network.
Engineered, supplied, and commissioned a comprehensive power distribution and motor control system for a small-scale manufacturing facility. The scope of work included detailed load analysis, single-line diagram (SLD) design, cable sizing, and protective device coordination to ensure system reliability and compliance with IEC standards. Developed and implemented motor control circuits for various process equipment, integrating control logic for enhanced automation and safety.
The project encompassed panel design and fabrication, busbar sizing, grounding system design, and earthing resistance optimization. All installations were executed following standard electrical safety codes, ensuring improved power quality, reduced system losses, and high operational efficiency. The completed system delivered stable power distribution, effective motor control, and enhanced plant productivity.
Supplied, delivered, and installed the complete electrical system for an administrative office building, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power distribution. The project scope included main distribution board (MDB) and sub-distribution board (SDB) installation, wiring and cabling works, lighting and power outlet layout execution, and earthing system implementation in compliance with relevant electrical codes and standards.
All electrical components were tested, commissioned, and verified for load balance, insulation resistance, and continuity, ensuring operational safety and energy efficiency. The system was designed to provide uninterrupted power supply, minimal losses, and long-term durability, supporting the building’s administrative and operational functions effectively.
